About Floodhound

Science-Driven Modeling. Engineering-Backed Solutions. Climate-Ready Cities

Floodhound was founded by three professionals with a shared purpose: to help communities prepare for the floods of tomorrow — today.

We are a team of scientists and engineers who believe that as rainfall intensities grow under climate change, flooding doesn’t have to become the new normal. With the right tools, data, and planning, flood damage can be anticipated — and prevented.

Meet the Founders

Ari Meilijson, PhD
Hydrologist & Geospatial Analyst
Ari brings over 20 years of academic research and more than a decade of consultancy experience across the energy, mining, environmental, and construction sectors. His expertise in runoff modeling, groundwater systems, and flood hydrology forms the scientific backbone of Floodhound

Peter Illner, PhD
Climate Modeler & R Programming Expert
A geochemist by training and a data modeler by nature, Peter leads Floodhound’s simulation and modeling systems. He is our primary operator of Fluidit Storm, and his fluency in programming ensures our models are robust, adaptable, and fully data-integrated

David Papish, Eng
Engineering Lead – Flood Defense & Infrastructure Planning
David is a seasoned plumbing and mechanical engineer and the founder of a major water systems design firm. He heads our flood defense and infrastructure mitigation planning, bringing real-world construction insight into every project we take on

Why We Started Floodhound

We’ve spent years working together — in academia, on joint publications, and across climate-related research. But it was the shared concern for the intensifying impact of climate change on rainfall and flooding that led us to form Floodhound.

While many effects of climate change remain out of human control, flood preparedness is not. With deep knowledge in hydrology, engineering, and environmental modeling, we founded Floodhound to help cities, companies, and communities understand flood risk and act before disaster strikes.

Our Mission

At Floodhound, our mission is to help communities, cities, and developers stay one step ahead of flooding. We believe that as climate change accelerates, so must our capacity to understand and prepare for its effects. By combining cutting-edge hydrological modeling, climate data, and practical engineering strategies, we aim to turn flood risk into flood readiness. Our work empowers decision-makers to act before disaster strikes — protecting infrastructure, safeguarding lives, and supporting long-term climate resilience.
